A negative body image can lead to low self-esteem, self-criticism, social anxiety, and depression. I have experience working with clients who have Body Dysmorphia and Disordered Eating.

Through my work with clients, I have found that therapy has enabled them to manage their negative feelings in a way that feels more acceptable and less intrusive.

One particular client benefitted from our therapy sessions by recognising that she had created unrealistic expectations for herself due to her childhood experiences. This enabled her to seek clarity and gain self-compassion. As a psychodynamic counsellor, I often look at a client’s past experiences to connect their current thought processes and behaviour patterns.
