Be curious about what may be happening to the other person. Are they stressed, feeling concerned, or have health or financial issues?

Are you listening to your partner’s feelings or listening to defend yourself?

Have awareness of your partner’s needs. Do they need support, reassurance or encouragement?.

You may not agree with what your partner is saying, which is perfectly okay. There may always be a difference of opinion. However, learning to manage conflict in a harmonised way creates respect and transparency in the relationship. You should also think of how to compromise and work together to accommodate each other’s needs
