About Me

I am an MBACP Integrative Counsellor that offers a safe space to support you with emotional and mental health challenges.

Our work together can help increase your self-awareness, seek emotional fulfilment and self acceptance.

Life can be challenging at times and I am here to walk with you on your personal journey of emotional growth and development.

As an integrative counsellor, I use different therapeutic approaches such as Psychodynamic, Person Centered and Compassionate Focused Therapy.

I will work at your pace and rhythm.  I will always stay focussed on what matters to you and will only challenge you when you feel ready to increase your curiosity and insight about yourself.

Specialism

I support clients experiencing a range of emotional and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD and stress.  I have specialist experience and knowledge of working with issues in relation to Body Dysmorphia, Health Related Anxiety, Relationship and Attachment styles, Divorce, Separation, Gender Dysphoria, Bereavement and loss.

In the past I have worked for improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT), working with young people, adults and elderly adults.  I have also worked with children and young teens in an educational setting and am familiar with the emotional, social and educational pressures young people face in every day life.

I have also worked for Harrow Bereavement and am trained in supporting clients experiencing bereavement and loss.

I have had Safeguarding training and am skilled in managing complex crisis situations in a compassionate and sensitive way.

What Therapy Does

When you first come to therapy, it can be unclear what is going on for you and why you feel the way you do?  Therapy can increase your self awareness and is a way of getting to know yourself better.   We all have our limitations and emotional boundaries.  I will support you to navigate difficult emotions and process the chaos in your mind, so that you begin to feel comfortable in your skin and have more personal insight

Sigmund Freud (Founder of Psychoanalysis) said our past is connected to our present.  Therapy can increase your curiosity about the past and help you connect the dots.  Sometimes it is not easy to let go of past feelings of hurt and sadness.  Having a space to process what feels uncomfortable is just as valuable and can help you seek self compassion.

I integrate Person Centered Therapy in my work with clients and Carl Rogers said “the curious paradox is when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”  Self acceptance can feel extremely liberating but it takes time to get there.  You will find that life will continue to challenge you.   As your counsellor, I don’t want to change you but will empower you to know that it is perfectly okay being YOU.

I offer a free 20 minute initial consultation on Zoom or the telephone.  This is a great opportunity for me to get to know you better and find out what support you need.
